No place is quite as magical as Disney World, and no experience is quite as magical as taking your child there for the very first time. I know LL won’t remember much, but seeing his face light up when he experienced all his “firsts”, made the whole trip worthwhile.
Because LL is just short of 2 years old, there weren’t many rides he could go on, nor did he have the patience to stand in long lines. So we figured it would be best to only attempt two parks: The Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom. These parks are catered to children in the youngest age bracket, they host all their favorite characters and it brings you guys, the parents, back to the past.
We started off at the Magic Kingdom. We arrived right as the park opened and within minutes, it was packed to its fairy tale brim with explorers just like us. Our first stop was of course the It’s a Small World ride. Even as an adult, this is the most magical and uplifting ride I’ve ever been on. Then we were off to fly with Dumbo high up above the park, and when we landed, LL ran around the park wherever his little legs would take him.
The next day we were off to the Animal Kingdom. As my husband called it, a zoo on steroids. We started the day with an early morning Safari ride and saw some truly amazing wildlife. Zebras running through the Serengeti, tigers and lions lounging about, and monkeys swinging from tree to tree as we rode by. After our safari ride, LL ran through the park to different continents like Asia and Africa and to lands where Dinosaurs roam.
And no Disney trip would be complete without having lunch with Mickey Mouse himself… We HEART Disney World!
